परिचय
कामना ३ अंकों और २२ दृश्यों का एक प्रतीकात्मक नाटक है। कामना, संतोष, विनोद, विलास, विवेक, शांतिदेव, दम्भ, दुर्वृत्त, क्रूर, लीला, लालसा, करुणा, प्रमदा, वनलक्ष्मी और महत्त्वाकांक्षा की मानवीकरण प्रक्रिया के द्वारा प्रसाद जी ने कामना, लालसा और महत्त्वाकांक्षा के कारण कैसे संतोष, शांति और विवेक के स्थान पर दंभ, दुर्वृत्त, क्रूरता, विलास, प्रमदा, विनोद आदि प्रबल होकर व्यक्ति और राष्ट्र की संस्कृति और शांति को नष्ट करते हैं, यह इस नाटक में संकेतित है। इस सन्दर्भ में डॉ॰ सत्यप्रकाश मिश्र ने लिखा है :
“परन्तु, यह संकेत भी अंततः एक संकेतक है दूसरे संकेत का और वह है अंग्रेजों द्वारा भारत द्वीप के विनाश और गुलाम बनाने की कथा का तथा प्रकारान्तर से किसी देश की गुलामी की कथा का। फलतः व्यापक अर्थ में यह पराधीनता-समीक्षा का नाटक है।”

Introduction
Kamna is a symbolic play of 3 figures and 22 scenes.
