बहुत से ज्योतिष ग्रन्थो के होने पर भी इस पुस्तक के लिखने की क्यो आवश्यकता हुई यहाँ संक्षेप में यह बता देना अनुचित न होगा।
आज कल पाश्चात्य देशो में भी फलित मे विश्वास वढने लगा है। कई पुरुष स्वयं भी अनुभव कर फलित पर विश्वास करने लगे है, इस कारण इस शास्त्र के अध्ययन की ओर लोगो को रुचि बढ़ रही है, परन्तु ज्योतिष के अधिकतर ग्रन्थ संस्कृत में ही है और वे अन्य विद्वानो के समझने योग्य ही लिखे गये है, अर्थात् वे ही उनको समझ सकते है जो उस विषय में कुछ जानते हो। परन्तु जो उस विषय में कुछ भी न जानते हो उनके समझने में वे पुस्तकें भाषा टीका में होने पर भी समझ में नही मा सकती। कारण कि नवीन विद्यार्थी को उन पुस्तको के समझने मे बडी कठिनाई होती है । संस्कृत की भी उतनी योग्यता प्राप्त करने का समय या साधन का अभाव भी बहुत खटकता है।
इस कारण राष्ट्रभाषा हिन्दी में एक ऐसी पस्तक की आवश्यकता है कि जिससे कोई विद्यार्थी यदि ज्योतिष का एक अक्षर भी न जानता हो तो बिना किसी दूसरी पुस्तक के सहारा लिये घर बैठे स्वयं ज्योतिप का अध्ययन कर सके। मैने भी ज्योतिष शास्त्र के अध्ययन में बहुत वर्ष व्यतीत किये है और कई पण्डितो से मिल कर इसका अध्ययन करते समय आवश्यक सक्षिप्त नोट भी तैयार करता गया जिससे उस विषय की विस्मृति न हो। कई मित्रो ने जिनको इस विषय के अध्ययन को तीव्र इच्छा हुई, ये नोट देख कर प्रसन्न हुए और जन साधारण के लाभार्थ प्रकाशित करा देने की सम्मति दी। इस कारण इस पुस्तक के प्रकाशित करने की आवश्यकता हुई।
यह पुस्तक इस बात को ध्यान में रखकर लिखी गई है कि पाठक इस विषय के अनभिज्ञ है, इसी कारण किसी विषय को समझाते समय नवीन विद्यार्थी के अध्ययन करते समय कठिनाई न हो, कही कही एक बात की पुनरुक्ति भी करनी पड़ी है और इस बात का भी ध्यान रखा गया है कि कोई कठिन शब्द न आवे जिससे भावार्थ समझने में कठिनाई जान पडे। जहाँ आवश्यक हमा है वहाँ कठिन शब्दो को समझा दिया गया है। पारिभाषिक शब्द तो सर्वत्र ही समझा दिये गये है|
In spite of having many astrological texts, why there was a need to write this book, it would not be unreasonable to tell briefly here.
Nowadays, even in western countries, faith in the result has started increasing. Many men have experienced themselves and have started believing in the result, due to which people are getting interested in the study of this scripture, but most of the texts of astrology are in Sanskrit and they have been written only to be understood by other scholars, that is, They can understand only those who know something about that subject. But those who do not know anything about that subject, those books cannot be understood even if they are in language commentary. Because the new student has a lot of difficulty in understanding those books. The lack of time or means to acquire the same qualification as Sanskrit also hurts a lot.
For this reason, there is a need for such a book in the national language Hindi so that if a student does not know even a single letter of astrology, he can study astrology himself sitting at home without taking the help of any other book. I have also spent many years in the study of astrology and while studying it with many scholars, I also prepared necessary short notes so that that subject is not forgotten. Many friends, who had a strong desire to study this subject, were pleased to see these notes and gave their consent to publish them for the benefit of the general public. This necessitated the publication of this book.
This book has been written keeping in mind that the reader is ignorant of this subject, that is why while explaining a topic to a new student, there should be no difficulty while studying, one thing has to be repeated somewhere and this point has to be made. Care has also been taken that no difficult words should come which may make it difficult to understand the meaning. Wherever necessary, difficult words have been explained. The terminology has been explained everywhere.
