युक्तो धर्मार्थयोर्ज्ञाने स राज्यमधिगच्छति ॥ ११ ॥
जो इनके प्रमाणोंको ठीक-ठीक जानता है तथा धर्म और अर्थके ज्ञानमें दत्तचित्त रहता है, वह राज्यको प्राप्त करता है ॥ ११॥
न राज्यं प्राप्तमित्येव वर्तितव्यमसाम्प्रतम् । श्रियं ह्यविनयो हन्ति जरा रूपमिवोत्तमम्॥ १२ ॥ ‘अब तो राज्य प्राप्त हो ही गया’—ऐसा समझकर अनुचित बर्ताव नहीं करना चाहिये । उद्दण्डता सम्पत्तिको उसी प्रकार नष्ट कर देती है, जैसे सुन्दर रूपको बुढ़ापा
॥ १२ ॥भक्ष्योत्तमप्रतिच्छन्नं मत्स्यो वडिशमायसम्। लोभाभिपाती असते नानुबन्धमवेक्षते ॥ १३ ॥ मछली बढ़िया चारेसे ढकी हुई लोहेकी काँटीको लोभमें पड़कर निगल जाती है, उससे होनेवाले परिणामपर विचार नहीं करती ।। १३ ।।
