मेरी पहिली और दूसरी तिब्बत-यात्राये पहिले ही लिखी जा चुकी है, तीसरी यात्रा का संक्षित वर्णन आया जरूर था, लेकिन उसे कुछ विस्तार के साथ लिखने की आवश्यकता थी, इसीलिये इन पंक्तियों को मैंने लिखा । चौथी यात्रा संक्षेप में “मेरी जीवनयात्रा के द्वितीय भाग में श्राई है, कभी समय मिलने पर उसको भी विस्तार के साथ लिखूगा। मेरी चारों तिब्बत यात्रानो (१९२६, १९३४, १९३६, १९३८ ई०) को हुए आज १३ वर्ष हो चुके हैं, लेकिन तिब्बत ने जैसे अपने भीतर शतान्दियों को ताजा बनाये रखा, उसी तरह से इतिहास की दृष्टि से वह अब भी अचल सिद्ध होता, किन्तु अब वहा शताब्दियो का परिवर्तन वर्षों में होने लगा है। भारत और तिब्बत की जिन सांस्कृतिक अनमोल निधियो को मै वहा के मठो मे देख आया था, अब उनके गुणग्राहक वहा पैदा हो गये हैं, और श्राशा है कि इतिहास के प्रेमियो के लिए, भारत और चीन के संबन्ध को और दृढ़ करने के लिए यह निधियां प्रकाश में आयेगी।
