मन में उठती है और न-जाने किस अज्ञात तट से टकराकर शून्य में विलीन हो जाती हैं। मैं सोचा करती हूँ, क्या कभी फिर भी मैं कविता लिख सकूँगी? लेकिन, इस प्रश्न का उत्तर कहाँ मुझे मिलता है !
फिर, एकवार सोचती हूँ, जो स्मृतियाँ अतीत के अन्धकार में छिप गयी थीं, जिन्हें मैं भी भूल-सी ही गयी थी, हृदय की उन चिनगारियों को स्मृति की फूंक मार कर जगाने में कौन सुख है ? यह इतना आयोजन, इतना आडम्बर जो किया जा रहा है, इसका क्या अभिप्राय है ? मुझे तो इसका भी कोई समुचित उत्तर नहीं मिलता।
मैंने कभी यह इच्छा प्रकट नहीं की कि मेरी कविताएँ इकट्ठी की जायें और उनकी पुस्तक तैयार हो। यह बात तो कभी मैंने सोची भी नहीं थी कि कभी कोई इन्हें यह रूप देगा और न यह.समझ कर मैंने कोई कविता ही कभी लिखी है। किन्तु, अनेक वार जो बात सोची-समझी नहीं जाती, वही सामने आती है। इन कविताओं के सम्बन्ध में भी यही हुआ। मेरे भाई प्रफुल्ल के आग्रह, अनुरोध और परिश्रम से श्राज मेरी कविताएँ, पुस्तक-रूप में, साहित्य-पारखियों के सामने जा रही हैं।
Wakes up in the mind and does not know which unknown coast collides and merges into the void. I think, can I ever write a poem anyway? But, where do I find the answer to this question!
Then, I think one time, the memories which were hidden in the darkness of the past, which I too had forgotten, who is happy to awaken those sparks of the heart with the memory?
What is the meaning of this much planning, so much fanfare that is being done? I do not get any proper answer for this either.I never expressed my wish that my poems be collected and that his book be ready.
I had never even thought that anyone would give them this form and neither did I understand that I have written a poem only once. But, many times, what is not thought through, the same thing comes to the fore. The same happened in relation to these poems. Through my brother Prafulla’s request, request and hard work, my poems are going in front of literature-connoisseurs, in book form.
