जीवोंको प्रथम तो नरजन्म ही दुर्लभ है, उससे भी पुरुषत्व और उससे भी ब्राह्मणत्वका मिलना कठिन है; ब्राह्मण होनेसे भी वैदिक धर्मका अनुगामी होना और उससे भी विद्वत्ताका होना कठिन है [ यह सब कुछ होनेपर भी ] आत्मा और अनात्माका विवेक, सम्यक् अनुभव, ब्रह्मात्मभावसे स्थिति और मुक्ति – ये तो करोड़ों जन्मोंमें किये हुए शुभ कर्मोंके परिपाकके बिना प्राप्त हो ही नहीं सकते।
किसी प्रकार इस दुर्लभ मनुष्यजन्मको पाकर और उसमें भी, जिसमें श्रुतिके सिद्धान्तका ज्ञान होता है ऐसा पुरुषत्व पाकर जो मूढबुद्धि अपने आत्माको मुक्ति के लिये प्रयत्न नहीं करता, वह निश्चय ही आत्मघाती है; वह असत्में आस्था रखनेके कारण अपनेको नष्ट करता है।
भले ही कोई शास्त्रों की व्याख्या करें, देवताओंका यजन करें, नाना शुभ कर्म करें अथवा देवताओंको भजें, तथापि जबतक ब्रह्म और आत्माकी एकताका बोध नहीं होता तबतक सौ ब्रह्माओंके बीत जानेपरआकाश, वायु, तेज, जल और पृथिवी-ये सूक्ष्म भूत हैं। इनके अंश परस्पर मिलनेसे स्थूल होकर स्थूल शरीरके हेतु होते हैं और इन्हींकी तन्मात्राएँ भोक्ता जीवके भोगरूप सुखके लिये शब्दादि पाँच विषय हो जाती हैं।
जो मूढ इन विषयोंमें रागरूपी सुदृढ़ एवं विस्तृत बन्धनसे बँध जाते हैं, वे अपने कर्मरूपी दूतके द्वारा वेगसे प्रेरित होकर अनेक उत्तमाधम योनियोंमें आते-जाते हैं। अपने-अपने स्वभावके अनुसार शब्दादि पाँच विषयोंमेंसे केवल एक-एकसे बँधे हुए हरिण, हाथी, पतंग, मछली और भौर मृत्युको प्राप्त होते हैं, फिर इन पाँचोंसे जकड़ा हुआ मनुष्य कैसे बच सकता है?………..
First of all, male birth is rare for living beings, it is difficult to get masculinity and even more Brahmanity than that; It is more difficult to be a follower of Vedic religion than to be a brahmin, and even more so to be a scholar [in spite of all this] consciousness of the soul and non-atma, right experience, state and liberation from the consciousness of Brahman – these cannot be attained without the maturity of the good deeds done in crores of births.
Somehow, having attained this rare human birth and also having such a manhood in which there is knowledge of the doctrine of Shruti, the foolish intellect who does not try to liberate his soul, he is certainly suicidal; He destroys himself because of having faith in the untruth.
Whether one interprets the scriptures, worships the deities, performs various auspicious deeds or worships the deities, but until the oneness of the Brahman and the soul is realized, after the passing of a hundred Brahmas…….
