Tantra (/ˈtʌn.trə, ˈtæn-/; Sanskrit: तन्त्र, lit. ’loom, weave, warp’) denotes the esoteric traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism that developed in India from the middle of the 1st millennium CE onwards.
